Australian Solar Timbers Helps Wigay Park Get Back on Track in a Tough Climate
December 2012
Wigway Park received a much needed boost following the delivery of two truck loads of mulch for the park's garden after dry weather conditions had left it undernourished.
Kempsey Shire Council team leader of community development Melanie Booth said the park's irrigation system had totally disintegrated and that the donation would benefit the gardens hugely by helping to keep the water in. 'We've also had vandals tamper with the system a few times so we've had a few setbacks'
Australian Solar Timbers general manager Allan Hutley said the business was always happy to help out community groups… 'It's a tough climate at the moment so we are more than happy to get behind the community'
Every week students from Melville High School, Kempsey High School and St Paul's College help maintain the park as part of a community initiative.
